谷歌发邀请函 拟于3月19日举行神秘游戏服务发布会

2月20日消息，据The Verge报道，谷歌计划借3月份游戏开发者大会(GDC)之机，举办一场与游戏相关的神秘发布活动。该公司已经为此向媒体发出邮件，邀请他们参加谷歌的主题演讲，但承诺将到3月19日上午10点才会“披露所有真相”。谷歌的神秘邀请包括一张GIF动画，上面显示被强光照射的走廊。


谷歌通常在GDC上举办面向开发人员的活动，为Android游戏开发人员提供最新的更新。今年的谷歌主题演讲显然将有所不同，该公司希望每个人都知道，这次它在做些与以往不同的事情。

在过去的六个月里，谷歌一直致力于其Project Stream服务，该服务允许Chrome用户在他们的浏览器中播放流媒体游戏。《刺客信条：奥德赛》（Assassin’s Creed Odyssey）是第一款、也是唯一一款使用谷歌服务进行公开测试的游戏，该公司很可能会在3月份的活动中提供有关Project Stream的更多细节。Project Stream的公开测试已于上月完成，谷歌可能已准备好将其打造为完整游戏流媒体服务的计划。

谷歌将面临来自索尼、英伟达、微软甚至亚马逊的竞争。微软正计划推出自己的xCloud游戏流媒体服务，并计划在今年晚些时候进行公开测试。亚马逊似乎也准备推出类似的服务，而英伟达和索尼都已开始在互联网上播放游戏流媒体内容。
