近日，Spotify宣布收购了Parcast，一家专注于犯罪、神秘和科幻节目的播客网络，收购金额尚未公布，此前，Spotify还收购了一家声誉良好的播客网络Gimlet Media和播客创建应用程序Anchor。Spotify在关于此次收购的新闻发布会上表示，犯罪和神秘播客是"我们用户最喜欢的类型"，这就是为什么它觉得Parcast值得购买的原因。

鉴于此，Spotify想要投资一个具有专业技能的网络是有道理的，Spotify的首席财务官巴里·麦卡锡表示，该公司同样效仿Netflix，因为它将开发"良好的、可预测的算法"，所以Spotify知道人们喜欢什么，并能够根据这些预测进行优先制作。

该公司此前曾表示，收购Gimlet就像迪士尼收购皮克斯或惊奇娱乐一样，这两家制片公司既保持了独立性，又生活在了母公司的知识产权库里。Parcast没有明确表示是否会保留其团队或办公室，但Gimlet保留了其位于纽约布鲁克林的总部。自从Gimlet交易宣布以来，Gimlet创意团队就制定了成立工会的计划，尽管Gimlet及其法律顾问表示，他们不会自愿承认工会。

Spotify表示，公司计划在与播客相关的交易上投入5亿美元，因此今年晚些时候可能会有更多消息。
