Facebook新实验室里有哪些设备？新实验室有500张工作台，一系列先进的设备，和严格的安全守则。有些地方扎克伯格都不能进去，因为需要人员经过专业的安全训练。

五轴水刀：电脑控制下，水和石榴石砂的混合物在高压下可以切割不同的材料，包括大理石和玻璃。脸书主要用它来切割钢片，可以用来制造网络服务器。


五轴铣床：六万磅重的机器，可以不停翻转原型以实现精准的研磨。图中精巧的小地球模型，就是从粗笨的大块铝块铣刨出来的。脸书主要用它来制作无线网络项目Terragraph需要的一些节点。


九轴联动车床：可以用来制造通讯激光的万向接头，联网的无人机也可以使用这些接头，在平流层发射网络信号。


电子显微镜：如果原型失败了，员工将用这个电子显微镜查找、分析失败的原因，然后重新再来。


404区里将会制造的脸书产品原型，还包括无人机Aquila的其他零件、Oculus的虚拟现实装备、Surround 360度相机等。当原型在这里通过测试，将被送到工厂去进行大量生产。在软件领域发展迅速的脸书，将面对有丰富硬件技术经验的公司的激烈竞争，像无人机领域的波音、虚拟现实领域的微软和三星、还有涉猎广泛的谷歌。这个新实验室，也许可以帮助脸书在硬件领域里复制它在软件世界里的成功。
