根据斯诺登的说法，美国政府一直以反恐为由，希望科技公司们能开后门，提供消费者的隐私，以实现监控。对于美国政府这样的要求，有的科技公司反应激烈，苹果就是其中一家。库克曾多次为此动怒，而苹果官网上最近的出现一封库克亲自撰写的《给消费者的信》更是将愤怒表达到了极致。

这究竟是怎么一回事?

起因源于枪击案

去年 12 月，San Bernardino 发生一起袭击案，Syed Rizwan Farook 和妻子对当地一家社会服务机构发起袭击，一共造成了 14 人死亡，随后，这两人在枪战中被警方击毙。

事后，警察发现了一部属于 Syed Rizwan Farook 的 iPhone 5c 手机，调查人员试图解锁这部 iPhone，但碍于 iPhone 的信息保护措施，调查人员的努力都成了徒劳。于是洛杉矶地方法院要求苹果公司提供技术协助、解锁这部 iPhone 5c。

而 FBI 在向苹果索要相关数据之外，还提出了一个要求，那就是为 iPhone 开发一个“后门”，正是这个要求最终激怒了库克，也最终引出了这封致消费者的信。

库克在信中写了什么?

库克这封信以“加密的必要性(The Need for Encryption)”、“San Bernardino 案(The San Bernardino Case)”、“对数据安全的威胁(The Threat to Data Security)”和“危险的先例(A Dangerous Precedent)”为小标题分为了四个部分。

在“加密的必要性”部分，库克提到以 iPhone 为代表的智能手机已经成为了人们生活不可或缺的一部分，这些智能手机中存储了数量庞大的用户隐私，从私密对话、银行信息、健康数据，到用户踪迹。个人信息的安全已经与个人人身的安全紧密相关，所以信息加密对所有的用户都如此重要。也正因为如此，库克强调苹果多年来一直保护用户的个人数据不受侵犯。甚至苹果自己都没有能力知道用户的个人信息是什么。

库克在“San Bernardino 案”部分回顾整个事件的始末，称苹果已经提供了能提供的 FBI 索要的数据，但认为 FBI 要求开发的 iPhone “后门”系统一旦落入不法之徒的手中，那么后果不堪设想。

在“对数据安全的威胁”中，库克指出这个“后门”一旦出现，那么它就会像一把万能钥匙一样，打开无数的“锁”，从饭店、银行到商店、家庭。而美国政府所要求的行为就好像是让苹果“黑”掉苹果自己的用户，抛弃掉几十年来为保护包括数以千万计的美国公民在内的用户而做出的努力，苹果此后难以保护用户免遭黑客的入侵。这样的行为会伤害信赖苹果的守法公民，而让不法分子有机可乘。

库克在“危险的先例”中愤怒且直截了当地指控美国政府的这种行为是一种越权行为。

科技公司与政府的交战?

看了苹果和政府的这轮交锋，我们可能需要先静下心来想想以下两个问题：

1. 为什么 FBI 没有强行破解这部 iPhone 5c?

这应该从两方面来看。

首先，政府是不可以用骇客手段入侵手机的：因为非法手段得到的消息是不能用作证据，所以必须乞求苹果。再者，所谓的后门，有 Passcode、有 iCloud Password、有 iMessage 加密，里面一层又一层的加密，有的易破解，有的不易破解。

无论是以上哪种原因，只要苹果不放行，FBI 是不可以自己破解。

2. 要是苹果开了后门，你又知道吗?

那个 Passcode 本来就多次被绕过。更为关键的是，早前维基解密也有说过苹果曾给美国政府开了后门。

其实看到这儿，在这场以苹果为代表的科技公司们与政治力量的用户隐私争夺战中，用户只是一个配角，即使被争夺的是用户自己的隐私。
