苹果将在新冠爆发期间向美国医疗捐赠900万个口罩

近日据外媒AppleInsider消息，美国副总统迈克·彭斯周二对上周末发表的声明做出澄清，称苹果正向美国的医疗机构捐赠900万个N95口罩，为那些在一线抗击COVID-19的医务工作者提供支持。

目前担任白宫冠状病毒特别工作组负责人的彭斯在新闻发布会上宣布了苹果公司所做的贡献。

彭斯表示：“正如我今天所说，总统上周与苹果公司蒂姆·库克一起谈话。此时此刻，苹果公司工作人员去了他们的仓库，并向全国各地的医疗机构和国家库存捐赠了900万枚N95口罩。”

苹果是否计划向其他受灾国家做出类似的大笔捐款还不得而知，但库克周六表示，该公司正在向美国和欧洲的卫生专业人员提供“数百万”个口罩。

美国和国外的医护人员迫切需要基本的防护装备，随着COVID-19继续在全球蔓延，其防护用品已迅速耗尽。

Business Insider周二早些时候报道了彭斯的声明。周二详述的数字与三天前在类似的白宫简报中讨论的数字形成鲜明对比。

彭斯当时表示，苹果承诺提供200万个口罩，以提供给在该国受灾最严重地区工作的人。

库克在周六的一条推文中确认了捐赠。库克在推特上写道：“我们在苹果公司的团队一直在努力为与COVID-19作战的医疗保健提供商提供物资。

我们正在为美国和欧洲的卫生专业人员捐赠数百万个口罩。我们对一线的每个英雄都表示感谢。”

当库克于1月份宣布向“实地团体”提供未指定的捐款时，他首先提到了苹果公司为抗击该病毒所做的努力。

3月初苹果表示，随着公司开始以两比一的方式匹配员工捐款，其货币承诺金额超过了1500万美元。

在上周，库克承诺向意大利政府的官方应急部门Protezione Civile捐赠一笔“大额捐款”。【7406428】
