据国外媒体报道，微软在当地时间周四晚些时候提交的一份文件中称，关于对代码托管初创公司GitHub的收购案，微软已支付了13亿美元现金。

gitHub是一个面向开源及私有软件项目的托管平台，因为只支持git作为唯一的版本库格式进行托管，故名gitHub。2018年6月4日，微软宣布，通过全股票方式收购代码托管平台GitHub，交易金额为75亿美元。

但是，微软在11月8日提交的文件中却表示，这75亿美元的数字“包括GitHub已执行股权奖励和托管补偿的13亿美元现金支付”，并且声称交易于10月25日结束。

针对以上消息，微软没有立即回复媒体的置评请求。

软件开发人员在编写代码时使用GitHub来托管和共享代码，通常使用GitHub分发开源软件。收购GitHub交易是微软更广泛地拥抱开源软件行为的一个组成部分，也是微软争取软件开发商的努力的一个组成部分。近几年来，软件开发商已经被Alphabet旗下谷歌以及亚马逊等竞争对手所吸引。

微软旗下开放源码分享网站CodePlex由于不敌竞争对手GitHub，微软去年关闭了自已的CodePlex。微软去年在关闭自己的这个开放源码分享网站时声称，GitHub占据开源共享的主导位置，并且大多数这样的项目已经迁移到了那里。
