索尼正在努力开发VR虚拟现实电影

索尼旗似乎也在朝着VR发展。公司任命前数字营销高级副总裁Jake Zim（杰克·齐姆）为Sony Pictures Entertainment（索尼电影娱乐公司）的高级副总裁。声明中表示，Zim将负责建立“VR叙事内容记录表”，并与企业战略计划执行副总裁Kuni Suzuki合作。

Zim之前便担任与VR相关的职务，与The Void合作创作《Ghostbusters: Dimensions》（《捉鬼敢死队：次元》）体验，以推广新电影。索尼还曾根据2015年的一部电影《The Walk》（《云中行走》）制作VR体验，由旗下另一家公司TriStar Pictures发布。


很明显，这表明Sony Pictures和VR在未来有希望能超出我们已经习以为常的宣传体验。虽然这些类型的短视频很有趣，但我们已经达到希望能从更多大公司看到更有原创性和有意义的内容的发展阶段。谷歌正在提供协助，已与IMAX建立合作关系，为好莱坞开发VR相机。


另一项重要问题是这对SIE即将为PlayStation 4发布的PlayStation VR头显可能会产生什么影响。该设备目前主要是针对游戏玩家，但如果这两个部门进行适当的合作，那么PS VR的用户也将可以获得重要的360度全景电影内容。这将有助于与提供更多体验的竞争对手，如Oculus Rift和HTC Vive一较高下。


索尼持有一些可以跨入VR领域的电影系列，最受瞩目的当属《Men in Black》（《黑衣人》）和《Spider-Man》（《蜘蛛侠》）。公司已经与Marvel（漫威）就《蜘蛛侠》展开合作，这本身就表明其对将即将推出的《Avengers》（《复仇者》）系列VR化很感兴趣。


同时，索尼也参与制作了《Resident Evil》（《生化危机》》系列电影，该片导演最近证实，他也对VR技术很感兴趣。也许《生化危机》的VR版也将指日可待？
