英特尔将为2020东京奥运会部署网络技术。在MWC 2018上前夕的发布会上，英特尔宣布将和日本电信运营商docomo合作，为2020年东京奥运会部署5G技术。

在此前的平昌冬奥会上，英特尔与韩国通信服务提供商KT公司合作，为10个奥运场馆部署了22个5G链路，支持3800TB的网络容量。


2020年的东京奥运会，将是英特尔5G技术的全新试验场。比如360度视角的8K视频流，可能会在奥运场馆的高清沉浸式设备上呈现。此外，英特尔还将服务智慧城市传感器和智能网联汽车。5G网络将为智能设备提供网络覆盖，包括人脸识别、智能网联汽车等，并实现在30公里时速状态下，为汽车提供1Gbps的4K视频传输。


此外，在可穿戴设别、智能硬件、电子监控设备等硬件方面，英特尔也将通过5G技术优化体验。
