据外媒报道，爱尔兰财政部长周一宣布，苹果将于明年第一季度开始向托管账户支付154亿美元所欠税款。

爱尔兰财政部长帕斯卡尔-多诺霍（Paschal Donohoe）在与欧洲竞争专员玛格丽特-维斯塔格（Margrethe Vestager）会面前对媒体表示：“我们已经与苹果就托管资金的原则和运作达成了协议。我们预计，这些资金将从明年第一季度开始从苹果转移到托管账户。”


欧盟委员会2016年裁定，爱尔兰多年来一直向苹果提供政府援助，这种行为按照欧盟法律来说是违法的。欧盟委员会最初要求爱尔兰政府在1月前收回这笔钱，但是爱尔兰政府并不太合作，因此欧盟委员会打算将该国告上法庭。


建立托管账户可能是造成回收欠税拖延的主要原因。苹果和爱尔兰都对2016年的裁决提出了上诉，并致力于建立托管账户以便日后归还税金。对爱尔兰政府来说，值得关注的是，它需要确保不会亏欠苹果巨额的利润。


苹果坚称自己遵守税法，爱尔兰政府也声称，它为苹果提供的各项福利同样适用于其他公司。然而，在2003年，该公司向爱尔兰政府纳税的税率为1%，到2014年，该公司对于流入爱尔兰的国际税收纳税的税率降到了0.005%。欧盟委员会指责爱尔兰为了保持与苹果的良好合作而不愿向它征收巨额税款。
